O Reizinho: fine rum distilled from fresh sugar cane juice
O Reizinho is a family-run distillery from Madeira, Portugal, producing agricole rum. The sugar cane is locally grown on the island and pressed upon reaching the distillery. The rum is produced in small batches in two copper pot stills also known as portugese alambique. For its aged rums, O Reizinho uses Madeira wine barrels, which lend the rums a distinctive, incredibly rich and fruity character. The entire scale of production is small and artisanal with great attetion to detail – a true craft gem worth discovering.
